  • Need info on Soyo SY-6BA +III motherboard

My girlfriends machine has the mentioned motherboard (a Slot 1 motherboard I believe). I need a little info on it.... specifically what type RAM does it use and if possible how fast a processor can it 'handle'?

I tried browing a bit without much luck. The Soyo website wasn't much help.

    Anybody have this board?
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

      Hi Chris,

You need to use the US Soyo site - processor matrix is here -

For memory I always check on Crucial's website - http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/list...BIII&submit=Go

Hope this is of some help,

      Regards,

      John.

Well that answers my questions. Wasn't sure if she could put a faster processor in there, but seems like there's still 'room' for a small upgrade

          Thanks all

the p3-800 is the largest preset value, it can still be manually increased to.

it was also picky about video cards, voltages I mean.
