  • Test on multiple versions of IE on the same machine!

Basically this technique lets you install 5.01, 5.5 & 6.0 on the same machine to enable testing of pages on mulitple browsers without having to have several test machines. It came from seeing how MS allowed developers to test against the next version of IE6 as a result of the famous recent lawsuit.

There is even a link to download ready-to-use standalone versions

One would hope he'd be smart enough to realise that not everyone can afford to ignore IE...

Hey, if you're a website developer, it can be important.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Depends on if you are a website developer that follows the W3C standards... Sorry, couldn't resist taking a stab at IE.

If you're so concerned about the W3C standards that you're willing to alienate 90% of your potential viewers... that's pretty sad.

Sounds really useful - would be even more useful if you could run IE4 as well, but it's nice enough

I've got little time to post here lately, so no Opera Advertising

                          Excellent!

I wandered to the Evolt link and found the full version of I.E. 5.01SP2 with language files, etc . . .

It's good for crappy win95 Pentium1 machines that schools still hold onto for minor use. 5.5 would make these machines to seem to go half speed.

Now to try out the ones I have never used before!

I have always just used seperate machines, I don't mind and do use IE but wouldn't want more then one copy on a machine.
