  • AMD's close!

AMD is reporting a loss of $31million, which is very small compared to their previous losses!

Perhaps the continuing Hammer initiative will finally bring them out of the red?

They have dipped out of the red before. Intel has pumped up their pressure, so it's been hurting AMD. The Atlhon 64 has a bigger profit margin for them, so they should start doing much better.

The main reason for recovery was their flash business or so I read.

I do wish AMD is doing good as competition is good thing.

I'm fanboy of neither, although all operational rigs in the house are now AMD:

dual Athlon 3000+, single AthlonXP 1900 and "Athlon" 80386 DX40.

Yes, AMD relies heavily on its flash chips (though intel is going strong in that market segment too) - this is likely to hold, seeing as digicams and other digital gadgets are only just starting to enter the mainstream.
