  • Buying a monitor very soon!

I found Iiyama Pro 455 monitor for £175 inc. VAT. and delivery, I am seriously considering it what do you think guys is that a good monitor for the price?

The other option is 19" Hyundai ImageQuest P910 for £150 inc VAT and delivery.

Other suggestions are welcome, I would be ordering the monitor on Monday.

    Thank you.

IIyama questionable image quality. Buy a seventeen inch LCD instead some good ones going around, 16ms, so gamings alright.

The NEC Multisync LCD 1760NX would probably be a better screen, but if the Iiyama is a lot cheaper, I think you might as well go for it. At least Iiyama has superb customer service (I think their european service is unified, I can only speak of their german service of course).

Naa LCD is too expensive for me my limit is really something around £200 and 15" LCD is just too small.

You can buy a prety good CRT for £200 and as long as you are using refresh rate above 85Hz its not too bad, well aparently

The only advantage of TFT is that they are small and sexy well they use less electricity as well, but i don't have any problem with finding space for my monitor. I still think TFT's have narrow viewing angles and still image quality is no the same as on CRT. Right now im sitting next to the 19" crt and 15" TFT and I know wich one i would take.

That’s it I placed an order on Iilyama Vision Master 1451 hehe cheap and cheerful :P Hopefully it will be delivered by Wednesday.

Thank you for making me feel bad about my eyes guys

No seriously Pit £360 is just too expensive you can get 2 CRT's and a P650 for that

I have just started the uni and I am a bit paranoid about my spending :/

Newer TFTs have better viewing angles than you might think. Also, if your current monitor is good, don't make the same mistake I did: Do not replace a good (in my case excellent) 17" with a mediocre 19"!

I replaced a mediocre 17" (second-hand dell) with an excellent 19" (NEC FE950+). That was almost two years ago though. Maybe I'll go TFT next year-ish

The problem was that i didn't have any monitor at all, being so "organised" i forgot my one at home in London (please don't ask me how that happened) and I'm in Leeds now, so its just a temprorary thing, I will have two in the end

AFAIK Iiyama make pretty decent monitors (speaking of the diamondtron ones).
You can verify it going to www.pcpro.co.uk and reading their reviews.
