Hope they don't mess up Partition Magic, I love that tool.

This would give them the opportunity for a very complete SystemWorks package next year, Norton Utilities&stuff have been pretty much useless since 2X/XP arrived.

They need a decent diskdoctor programme.

Disk Image was Symantec's biggest competitor to Ghost ... though Ghost is VASTLY superior, IMHO. But yeah, buying PowerQuest lessens some competition and gives them some great server tools and Partition Magic. Smart move by Symantec, potentially crappy for the tech world though.

Symantec doesn't have the best track record of keeping great programs great.

Well in order for them to have a good system suite, they'd have to buy either diskkeeper or o&o defrag, and then they'd have to buy Ontrack's EZ Recovery Pro.

That's not gonna happen, so Systemworks will continue to suck for the foreseeable future.
