  • Parhelia boot logo?

    Hi!

One of you guys has the P's boot logo (the logo shown before bios screen) in the signature I think, don't remember who exactly though.

Is this a fake or real? Via the dvi out (to my lcd) I cannot see any, just black.

Ok, it's just a detail, but one I always liked...

Shall I file a bug report over at matrox support?

    Thanks, Hannes

Bootlogo? I've never seen any bootlogo with my Parhelia. The last MGA board that had any "boot message" at all was the Millennium II, I believe. Or perhaps the G200, but in that case they "fixed" that with a later BIOS to be in compliance with a weird "don't display any logos except ours"-standard from Microsoft.

I guess if you have one of Asus's boards (and probably other manufacturers support a feature like it) you could just make your own Parhelia Boot logo. But then again, it's one of those things that I think is cool for about the first time you see it, then you turn it off.

Sure it's just a detail. But I've seen it somewhere here at murc...I think I gonna try to find it.

I think you got mixed up with the Asus MyLogo thing. AFAIK Parhelia has a problem running MyLogo for some reason, and evetually this issue seem to have resolved. That's how I understand the issue, and this issue was solved like half a year ago or something. (just a long time)

I don't think there is any parhelia boot screen. They never have it (maybe except maybe for Millennium II). My G200 doesn't have it. My G550 doesn't have it.

Ah! All my cards had that. It's just a black screen with some hardware infos on the top left corner, before the bios actually starts (memory checking, hdd detecting & whatever).

My Millennium had it. My Elsa Victory had it. My Elsa Gladiac had it.

              It's a pity!

However I'm gonna go and search for that one who used it as avatar...

I wonder if the bootup information screen is gone, or if you just don't see it because the monitor hasn't warmed up / locked onto the correct refresh before the BIOS takes over the screen.

My father has it... I have it... and my sister has it. Uhm.. I mean, no, there is no "pre-post message" on any Matrox board younger than the Millennium II.

I remember people turning it on in the G series, though it wasn't on by default.

Thanks bsdgeek! You're right - it was WyWyWyWy's avatar!

See attachment (shamelessly stolen from WyWyWyWy). Doesn't seem to be a prepost screen though.

A thought that it is something like that.

Besides: Haig confirmed - thanks UtwigMU!- that the P and the Millennium P Series doesn't have a boot logo.
