  • New G4xx drivers are out

    Hi there.

It looks like nobody noticed the new drivers for the G series cards, 5.91.008.

    Available at http://www.matrox.com/mga/support/dr...kxp_591008.cfm

Just downloaded - the readme doesn't say too much. I'll let you know if it trashes my system

does that new driver include Marvel G450 eTV? it doesn't explicitly list that, but for all i know that's a different name for something in the list.

I don't think thers too much to comment about it ain't gonna improve game performance cause these cards are dead for that anyway and for 2d use they were working perfectly anyway

Yes, but maybe they gone nuts and implemented fast (software) algorithm for gamma correction on overlay surface, right out of the PowerDesk.

Well, the drivers are working fine.
              Just like the previous ones.

They don't seem to make Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory any faster, though

Does anybody knows anything about "Realtime stream over DVDMax" issue? Is it resolved?

Curently I don't have G400DH in my system, I've pulled it out for testing of some GPU (AGP) hardware so I cann't test it myself.

Hmm, is Java3D supported now ? There was an issue with the previous release, completely reproducable at Matrox. They advised me to wait for a new driver release... (the thread is gone because of their transition to a new forum though)

Is it really because of a forum upgrade?

                    Just joking.

It appears to me that 3D Studio Max 5 in OpenGL is quicker in the viewports.Yay. I can pan around a lot smoother!
Also Nascar Racing 2003 in OpenGL seems a tad faster (I am now running at 800x600 with the same performance as I had at 640x480 with the older 5.86 drivers) Dont quote me on this, its not like i've benchmarked or anything...

IIRC Haig mentioned DX9 compatible (not fully supporting) drivers for GXXX on tech support.

Haven't went above 2.82 since it's the last set that supports both G400 and Millennium.

                        On Parhelia now anyway.

I guess drivers for NT 4.0 also went unnoticed

It's sick and wrong, is what it is. On the one hand it's always good to know that Matrox still supports their older hardware, but what about their newer hardware?
