  • Newish file on M's ftp, what is it?

Probably a Bios file..... but for what? It's in ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/utils/tech_sup/2003

The file is called ncr_970_14ra.bin and it's dated 8-5-2003, so it came out 15 days ago. Any ideas?

    Taken from within the file;
    IBM COMPATIBLE MATROX/Matrox G450 VGA/VBE BIOS (V1.4RA)
So a newer revision (RA) of the 1.4 BIOS from the unified bios set.

    [edit]
found this in the "utility" section on matrox.com
"NCR firmware update 1.4RA - This is a special BIOS update for the Matrox G450 PCI to be used with the NCR RealPOS terminal."
    [/edit]

Yeah, maybe Microsoft would appear more honest if they named their products like that! That's just too damned funny!

Yes, you proabably use Matrox card every day without knowing it, when you draw money on NCR banking machine.

                    Ahhh..
That explains something I saw a couple weeks ago.
I was at a Home Depot, picking up a few things for work.
The register the guy was ringing me out on locked up, and showed a 'WindowsPOS' error window. I found that hilarious..."BWAHAHAHA,,,WindowsPOS", I exclaimed. The old man had no idea what I was lauhging about. I had to take my stuff to the next counter to check out....

We have a program written in house for taking money for documents and stuff.
                        It is actualy named pos.exe

"Yup, I'm workin' on that POS program again today!"

"So, hows the POS program going?"

                        "Meeting agenda-
                        Item 6: POS programming."

It just went on and on....
