Jpegs in Premiere 5.1c

I can't import jpegs into a project in premiere. I used to be able to in win98. Now i reinstalled premiere in my new win2k OS and for some reason i can't import any jpegs. It's not under one of the formats listed when i do import file. I did get the 5.1c patch. Anyone?

I have had this problem in the past also. The only way I could get the dam thing sorted was to uninstall and then re install Premier.
