  • I´m sick, I need help

After having had major XP problems, after an unprovoked crash, I´ve managed to get it in working order without having to reinstall all my software.
But now evertime I start this damned OS it opens "my documents" and I´m out of wits trying to disable it from running at startup.

I know, just kill it, but it irritates me!!

Anyone have an idea how to fix it?

    PLEASE???!!!??

    Yeah, install Linux.
    Wah! Wah!

In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

            Linux,
yeah sure. When it can setup my usb adsl modem without sweat, when it can run the Ati Catalyst drivers, when it runs SoundForge, WaveLab, Gigasampler and my Yamaha midi equipment, when it runs Photoshop, Illustrator and PageMaker, when it runs CorelDraw11 (do I need to go on?) I´ll be happy to run Linux. But until then I´ll settle for XP (and 98se and DOS, thank god).

This is a serious headache, don´t make a joke of it.

Ayoub, I use Ghost but otherwise I try to stear clear of Norton whatever.

I use no Norton at all, no Symantec, no McAffee... in fact I have very few stuff installed.

Photoshop works, I believe CorelDraw 10 was ported (using winelib, actually, just like Word Perfect 8.) Midi... that all depends on what type of soundcard you have. What's so special about ATI catalyst drivers? ATI does have their own drivers for linux. Soundforge, they do have quite a few sound editing software packages for linux. (The one that I think would really be nice if they'd have a port, is Cubase.) As far as Illustrator and Pagemaker, they would be nice, but check into Scribus, it's coming along nicely.

As far as your USB modem goes, I think linux probably will work with that too, depends on the distro and the model of the modem.

update to latest patches, download SP1 packet from kaaza () and then download all SP1 patches. Should go away then

Check your registry to see if c:\whateverthepathisto\My Documents is being run at startup?
