    Win XP logon ctrl-alt-del

    Ok, I'm old school and I rather like having that extra (if marginal) layer of security. I just installed XP today and after ripping as much of the god-awful fugly pos interface as I could out I still can't figure out how to get my ctrl-alt-del required for logon option back. Is it there still even?

    Yes, it is. Go To User Accounts, and look for the entry, Change How Users Logon and Logoff, and select Classic Mode. This disables fast user switching.

      I see no option for classic mode. All I see is 'Use Welcome Screen' and 'Use Fast Switching'. I've already disabled both which gives me the normal logon prompt, but it doesn't require hitting ctrl-alt-del before entering your username/pass.

        Go to 'Administrative Tools -> Local Security'.
        Under 'Local Policies -> Security Options' there's a policy called 'Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL'.
        Set this to 'Disabled'.
