  • problem with matrox g400

    hello , i'm a newbie matrox g400 tv user.
I have a problem with video image quality (on both tv and video input).
The white is saturated (as if it were over exposed). I've tried to
fix it with the brightness, contrast, saturation settings but no matter
what the settings, the white component of the picture is still too bright

    This is very annoying !
What can I do about this ?
I'm using win98se and I have the latest drivers installed.

A little more detail would help. For instance, is the bright white problem on your computer monitor, TV monitor, or the final (VHS, DVD, etc.) target medium?

Are your computer monitor setting correct? Have you tried adjusting those?

Try to include as much info as possible. This makes diuagnosis a bit easier.
Perspective cannot be taught. It must be learned.

OK, i'm using a G400 TV in France (secam tv standard).
The problem is not on my computer screen or anything...
When I watch scanned pics, or vids I've recorded with a Wintv Go
card, everything is ok. Picture is perfect. But as soon as I've installed
the G400 card, and used PCVCR for the first time, I've noticed that
that some colors of the video (tv and composite input) were too bright, over exposed.
Especially on the skies, lights, white clothes, etc... I've tried to record and
watch the file on mediaplayer, and the problem is still present. It affects still
captures as well. I have joint a jpeg capture so that you can see by yourself.

See how the shoulders of the man seem overexposed. When I watch this ad
on tv, there is no problem : it's only with the matrox !
I can post other jpegs if you wish.
