Is a P750 good enough to play this game, or do i really need to get a Parhelia?

Currently got a GF3 Ti 200 Will The P be fast enough or an equivalent speed to this?

Well from my personal experience, I can definitely say that GTA: Vice City runs awesomely on my Parhelia. Then again I have a 3.06Ghz CPU Runs great with FAAx16 on even. Though there are a few graphical glitches on things like bridge side railings.

Just wondering if my G400MAX would be able to run Vice City faster than my Voodoo 5 5500 AGP...?

        PIII 550 w/512Mb RAM Cas2
        Intel BX440 chipset.

The voodoo seems to be able to JUST run in 640x480x16bit...but there are slowdowns. I reckon its because of the T&L (or lack of).
I also think the G400 series also lacked T&L so i don't think i'm any closer there...

        Can anyone clear this up?

        cheers

GTA III runned better on my Voodoo 5 then on my G400MAX, the Voodoo was even faster than a Geforce 2 (but this is all mainly due the bad coding in GTAIII).

Vice city runs flawlessy here with the Voodoo 5. You're processor is probably holding you back. I don't know what the minimum requirements are for Vice City.
          Main: Dual Xeon LV2.4Ghz@3.1Ghz | 3X21" | NVidia 6800 | 2Gb DDR | SCSI
          Second: Dual PIII 1GHz | 21" Monitor | G200MMS + Quadro 2 Pro | 512MB ECC SDRAM | SCSI
          Third: Apple G4 450Mhz | 21" Monitor | Radeon 8500 | 1,5Gb SDRAM | SCSI

            Yeah, thats what i thought.
An AMD cpu has a very powerful FPU, and could probably cope a lot better with the software T&L than a poor PIII....

Dang, i didn't want to get a new mobo....oh well, i'll just leave VC to the main rig, and only play old games on the Oldie...

            Cheers,

              Right.
Decided to test the Voodoo5 in the 1.3GHz duron rig with 512mb ddr, and it works a charm. fluid at 800x600, just a few tweaks to be done, but at default settings, fine.

Tried the G400MAX also, and it too plays VC fine in 800x600.
Chugs big time in 1024 though...
Didn't try the voodoo in 1024 yet...

Suspect there is not much point going above 1.3GHz with the Voodoo 5, so this will be the the end of the line for it.

edit: Will try to get some info on how many FPS, and will place in benchmarks.

Have also tried 3DMark 2000, and will be giving 2001 a try later this week.

GTA runs much better on the Voodoo5 than the G400 series : don't forget the Voodoo5 came out at the time of the Geforce2

fluff small question did you overclock you ti200 ?

because most ti200's can run easily at 220mhz instead of the standard 175mhz

so parhelia and a GF3ti200 (overclocked) are pretty much at the same speed. except the parhelia has far better image quality
Hey! You're talking to me all wrong! It's the wrong tone! Do it again...and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron
