No wonder Blair was so upbeat when doing his speech the other day.

              Poor guy

He was a very senior figure in the new 'iraq survey group' - the US and GB WMD inspection team. He had been back in iraq twice since the 'end' of the war.

He was technically not a member of the intelligence services - he worked directly to Jeoff Hune (the defence secretery).

He had been strung out to dry - as he was told by the ministerial select comittee- to act as chaff against the comittee finding anything.

looks like he couldnt take the strain of not finding WMD anymore....

It looks like a judicial review will be unavoidable.

Although I can't see it on the BBC website it sounds like there is going to be a full enquiry.

I hear Tonys been informed and it's brought him rapidly down to earth after lift off in America yesterday. Sounds like he created a little crater when he landed as well.

Yeah they told me I hope Cherie still has Peter Foster's number... I may need to buy somewhere quick

Seriously though, this story stinks. I hope Blair is feeling very nervous & guilty.
