Well the ashes have been there a long time it just needed someone to sweep them up and put them in a jar.

I still think it is a sad day. I used Netscape exclusively until version 4.7, when they could not seem to get Java working correctly.

Netscape 4.7, when it still held ~20% of the browser market (enough that you had to make sure sites worked with it) was a pain in the arse to write HTML for.

Of course, if IE had been in the 20% minority, IE would have been the pain in the arse...

Not really 99.99999% of sites work with it. Rarely have a problem with it.

Because everyone has to work around it.

It doesn't support CSS (1,2, and probably 3 when it's done) properly, and it can't handle transparent PNGs.

                      Sheesh people... Moz isn't dead.

That said, I wouldn't care if it was - long live Opera!

(BTW, 07.20 Beta1 is out, and is already a lot faster and uses half as much memory - my no.1 grief - than 7.11 if initial reports are to be believed)

Yep.. and then suddenly IE is $300.00 in a seperate box.

It's a small company.. a few cars full of thugs with machine guns could wipe them out pretty quickly. Watch the news for suspicious accidents in Norway.

Why? Nobody has used Netscape for years now.
