Has anyone played it yet? (Especially on Parhelia surround) It looks really cool, but I'd like to hear more user feedback before paying $50 for the game and $150 to play it for a year.

It works fine on my P, though I don't have a surround environment.
But I'm not sure only I or not, my machine gonna freeze after 5min or so from starting a game, unless turn 'disable pixel shader and vertex shader' option on..

As for game playing, I think this game suits you if you like UO type game (life sim?).
But it seems EQ/DAoC follower hates alot.. cuz PvE battle isn't so exciting as these games I think.

I agree. Had some friends that were into both Ultima Online and then Everquest. They kept trying to get me into it, but I just couldn't justify spending all that cash.

yes, i hate the subscription system, i have never bought a single mmorpg. I'd rather pay 80$ for a game then to continually have to shell out to play a game that i already bought. I hope all the mmorpg all die and they change the system.

                    sorry didn't mean to,

i just don't have the income to afford to keep paying for games after i buy them.

it does look like a great game, is it worth it?

also is there any kind of lan option? or do u have to have the subscription to play?

I used to play UO. It was a blast, but then it got really lame because of all the player killers would cheat. Then of course you couldn't go to certain areas of the map because lag would kill you every time. Then of course buying houses got WAY out of hand. You couldn't even move around in the environment.

I stayed away from MMORPG's for a long time, then Byock talked me into playing Dark Age of Camelot, and I had a lot of fun with that, but again, I couldn't justify the cash for something I didn't play very often. Then I got back into UO again after a long while and it was pretty fun... but again, too many houses everywhere. (though the fixed the PK problem by creating alternate realms. One that was PK free, which was fun to hang out in.)

There are some Open source MMORPG's that don't cost any money at all that are in development. Worldforge comes to mind. Though if you want to play a UO like game (though the graphics just outright blow) give Crossfire a try. It's fun, you can have your own server, create your own maps, and have up to 200 people per server at a time

Crossfire is an open source, cooperative multiplayer graphical RPG and adventure game.

great idea, i'll check crossfire out, if anyone knows of any dynamically updated mmorpg's that are free or that don't cost for a subscriptoin that are really good, let me know.

                        thanks

Oh, and there're server emurators for UO/EQ/AC is something fun for free if you have dusty copies (it's a gray zone from software agreement, so I don't link any of it *cough*sourceforge*cough*).

Have anyone of you played Eve Online or been in the beta?

I'm considering buying it and signing up for a couple of months, but want to know if it's something to have or not.
