  • g450 and windows media player

I have been using an Asus 3800 video card for quite some time now and recently upgraded to a Matrox 450 dual monitor card. Since then my avi's in WMP are jerky and out of sync. My codecs are fine, I imagine. Although perhaps there is some special tweak I need to do.

I went back to the Asus card and all has returned to normal. I would really prefer to use the g450 as I bought it for its excellent graphic qualities.

Does anyone have any advice to offer vis-a-vis this situation? Experienced this and have a fix?

edit added: i am using windows xp and did not install any special g450 drivers from matrox (Version: 5.88.061) but allowed windows to install the drivers itself.

    thanks, eric

Try installing some Matrox drivers before troubleshooting further - the ones that come with Windows are usually sub-par, in my experience, for any brand of graphics card.
