  • Yet another RT2000 question by me. Does the G400 FLEX use powerdesk?

Hi, that subject pretty much sums it up.
Does the flex card use powerdesk like my current G400 MAX, and if so is there a customised verison available. should i be downloading the new PD6.4 ready for my installlation?

No, don't download it. It uses a different Flex version of Powerdesk that comes with your install CDs. You'll also be able to download the Service Pack 3 from Matrox, once you get your RT2000 box (unless it's already on your CDs - mine was SP2 a month ago).

Incidentally, there aren't Windows 2000 drivers for the RT2000 yet (wait for Matrox Video Tools 2.1, 2.5 or 3.0...?), but I have Windows 2000 partition on my machine, so I disabled the RT2000 Loader in System evices and I was able to install the latest standard G400 Millenium drivers for Win2k. I haven't given it a work out, but they seem to work fine.

To clarify: don't take this as a hint to install normal G400 drivers on your RT2000 editing system - only use the CD drivers or RT2000 support site drivers.

      thanks.
i also put this question on the RT2000 forums at matrox and i had 2 responses from the techs within about 90 mins. I'm well impressed. Seems that il have to do without the latest direct x and opengl support for now, but there again, i only play pod racer and UT everynow and again so what the hell am i complaining about.. As long as Monkey Island 4 works ill be fine :OP
