If MSP is updated to support its MPG-TS format with full smart render support before I buy a new camcorder, I'd consider getting this instead as the difference playing commercial DVDs in 480p vs 480i on our Toshiba 65" widescreen CRT projection TV is much more than I'd expected.

OTOH, no mention of low light performance which is my main reason for looking for a better DV camcorder. And realistically, using 4:3 CCDs for 16:9 recording is a Time-To-Market Kludge suggesting it'd be better to wait for some dust to settle and true 16:9 CCDs. But if you've new children (or grand-children) and want to preserve better quality memories for the future 720p recording might be much better than anything else in this price range right now.

But then, DV straight from the camcorder looks significantly better than 6000VBR MPEG2 made from the same DV on the big screen in my somewhat limited testing.
