A 'fart tax' is to be imposed on New Zealand's livestock, such as these cattle near Queenstown, to help combat global warming (news - web sites)

Farmers should play it smart and put methane collection bags on the cows. They could harvest methane to power natural gas vehicles.

Either that or put pilot lights behind their ****oles and burn it off as it comes out, like in petroleum refining.

            I don't get it.

How is a tax on a farmer going to reduce cow or sheep farts?

What's he gonna to do, shove a cork up their ass?

            They'll explode!

They oughta clap a tax on the fart-brained politicians. That'll double the take.

Wouldn't that be a sight at night? Periodic flames lighting up the pasture...

I bet they'd learn to keep their tails out of the way.

Gee, I don't see why not. I think a read a post yesterday about a Russian plane accidently sinking a Japanese fishing boat with a cow. Maybe cows are the weapon of the future: cow-a-pults, cow cannon, suface-to-air cows, submarine-launched cows, cows of mass destruction (biological and chemical), etc. Poor countries and terrorist groups will use dirty cow bombs. North Korea will spend every last dime on livestock, and people will still starve, because not a single cow will be used for food. The "guns or butter" argument will devolve into "bombs or burgers".

Soon, both Republican and Democrat Presidents will become obsessed with extremely expensive and elaborate strategic anti-bovine defense systems. We'll all be blasting each other's cows from space. Wars will be fought with few or no human casulties, but the entire planet will smell like dung.

Do you think cows will get charged with crimes against humanity?

                  For just farting?

                  Scary!

India will never use cows as weapons. They are through as a cow power.

India could respond with dirty pig bombings, which the Pakistanis would find unclean and annoying.
