Hmm just stumbled over this just now...SciFi Channel is doing a new Miniseries or "Reimaging" of the late 70's TV Show Battlestar Galactica. I used to love this show when I was little (then again I loved Star Wars at the same time ), so might be worth watching.

Really cool! I love SciFi channel, and their Dune mini-series was great so I am hoping the same for Galactica.

Just watched the trailer for the new Battle Star Galactica TV thing that has been rumored to come out and been in various court battles for years...

and they didn't reveal a damn thing...

SHould be interesting to see.

Lt. Kara Trace (Starbuck): Katee Sackhoff (Holloween: Resurrection (gal who lost her head on the stairs))

Lt. Sharon Valerii (Boomer): Gracie Park (no info, but another female takeover)

They say that while Starbuck is female the character hasn't changed: smart-assed, chain cigar-smoking and don't give a s**t. Sounds about right

Well it was only 1 season in '79, unless you count that god awful Galactica 1980 they made after the original was canned.

Oh, it was more than 1 season. There was a movie, followed by several seasons of episodes.

Only the first season was any good though.

I find it quite appalling that they would allow Dirk Benedict's role to be taken over by a chick. Bleh. I'll be boycotting, thanks.

Why? It was poignant and sad. I vividly remember when they turned away from a faint signal they got, and we (the audience) got to see the broadcast of the moon landing.

All they wanted to do was find earth.
