  • It's alive!

Something's going on on matrox' FTP. The README for the Parhelia driver 0.3.0 is up, but no driver in sight.

              Where?

EDIT: Oh, I found it. I have no idea why they have to make it such a hassle to get the drivers that supports OpenGL.

Now I just have to figure out which is more like Slackware 9; RedHat 7.3, 8.0 or 9.0?

They would do this to me! I installed Libranet 2.8 last night and had a fun experience trying to get the .2.1 driver to work, and ended up going to sleep later than I should have.... damn work. Sweet there is a new driver though, time to go play!

They, for some unknown reason, switched to a "shellscript" downloadable, instead of a tar-file. I'm having severe problems getting the installer to work, since it's packed with "Microsoftish" CR/LF, and of course it won't work correctly at all.

On another note though; Matrox replied very quickly to my request for the "OpenGL enabled" driver.

I have no idea. I haven't managed to unarchive it yet (and I've been trying different approaches for over one hour).

It says it is created by Makeself 2.1. Looking on Makeself's website (http://www.megastep.org/makeself/) it appears that Matrox needs to read this page....

Important note for Apache users: By default, most Web servers will think that Makeself archives are regular text files and thus they may show up as text in a Web browser. The correct way to prevent this is to add a MIME type for this file format, like so (in httpd.conf) :

                        AddType application/x-makeself .run
                        Leech
                        Wah! Wah!

The files are on matrox' FTP server, so that's not the problem.

I would guess that the files were uploaded to the FTP with a Windows-based FTP-program in ASCII-mode.

Yeah, my bad, I realized that after I posted it..... so uhm... do we download it with a FTP program in ASCII mode? or will that help (or have you tried that already?)
