  • We don't have a distributed.net team do we?

Out of curiosity, I loaded up the distributed.net client and am giving it a spin. It seems to be significantly better designed than DF or Seti, uses much less RAM, runs efficently on older systems (no FP operations, just integers,) actually implements a proper screensaver multiplexor that runs the client while the use specified screensaver runs, then ends it when the screensaver exits, supports SneakerNet, and has a cute tray icon.

To save me bother, can it run offline for weeks on end, and upload when I decide I want to upload?

Yep, it's dial-up friendly. You either tell it how many units to buffer, or let it do a benchmark and then tell it how many hours worth of work to buffer. http://n0cgi.distributed.net/faq/cache/78.html

It can even use email to send and receive data.
