MsPro 6.5 crashing Windows 2000

Hi, this really is a problem. When using MsPro 6.5 (with all patches except XP), when I scroll the timeline with either the scroll bar or a mouse wheel the program will frequently drop straight out. Some times it says it has created ann error log but I have never been able to find one.

This happens very frequently: so much so that I have to save after every edit!


But, I am now on my third PC that this has hapened on, all with different hardware so it is unlikely to be a hardware issue.


Current system is:


AMD Athlon 2000XP

MSI 746fx (sis based) motherboard

512 ddr

10gb boot drive and 80gb video drive

Pinnacle DC30 capturing mjpeg.

windows 2000 sp3


THe same thing happened on a Intel P3 600 with a radeon all in wonder or matrox marvel g400...Help!

This may be a function of SP3. I have heard of all sorts of dire things happening with that. I'm running with SP2 and it's rock solid.

Are you running on the 1.4x (?) series of VFW drivers or are you running on the WDM drivers for the DC30 that Maik Boehmeke has devised and is currently selling?
