Talking about wierd XP error messages

Event viewer.

Sharing printer failed +5 Printer HP deskjet 960c series share name hpdeskjet


Yet you can still print to it.


Even stranger I can't change any permissions to it.

If I delete the printer everything is okay until I print again.

The only thing I can think off that theres a print job still spooled from Mandrake and it's still trying to print that. However since no spooler comes up I can't check that.

Correction it's win2k I keep thinking about XP.

Nothing on Microsoft technet amazing you can't search under win9x win2k or XP anymore they're not listed.

Looks like I'm talking to myself.

Well it seems that I've solved it.

The cure seems to be uninstall the printer. Reboot.
Uninstall file and print sharing. Reboot.
Event viewer fills up with error messages.
Re-install printer and reboot.
Re-install file and print sharing and reboot.
Re-assign all the permissions.
Event viewer now clear of all error messages.
