  • Anyone Know What This Means?

Writing an essay. None of my friends know German. I need to know what this phrase means: DEN KRIEG GEWINNEN WIR UND KEIN ANDERER!

Online translators don't really help as the translation doesn't mean a lot of sense to me. I thought roughly that it might mean no one profits from war, but I need to be sure. Thanks for any help.

Nevermind, a friend of a friend of a friend that speaks German was able to tell me. It means "We won the war and no other." Phew, glad I found out before deadline...

Nope. It means "We WILL win the war and no one else".

LOL...woops. Guess I'll have to change my essay a bit. Grrr...and I thought I was done.

EDIT: Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, I can see how it makes sense to the picture that it's in now. Heh, you saved me from an F. Now to bed I go...finally.

Additional info: The grammatical time used here is the present, but in german, you can use the present tense instead of future tense, especially when in english you'd say "we WILL win the war" - if you meant "we're GOING TO win the war" you'd use future I in german.
