    Is it actually scary?

I've been searching for a movie that will scare me. The Ring was supposed to be scary but instead it turned out to be kinda boring. I heard that Ringu is supposed to be a whoile lot better. (anyways, that's drifting offtopic)

I've seen the trailer for 28 days later - dunno if it's any good or real scary (I don't like scary movies, they scare me ), but its use of sound was so good that I'm gonna see it

The Ring was kinda scary, but... not scary enough to make me have trouble sleeping or anything. I had worse sleep problems after watching "Event Horizon", which wasn't scary at all.

        I have spoken.

The Ring totally sucked. It was based of an old movie called the "Changeling" (I think that's the title). But yes, you'd like In the Mouth of Madness. If movies like The Ring or Event Horizon scared you at all, then this definately will. It's a total mind **** too. And it has Sam Neil Gurm (bad guy in Event Horizon).

Just don't let the beginning of the movie fool you. It starts out looking corny as hell. I think John Carpenter did all the music for it and he starts out with a rock song. But anyway, go check it out. I'm surprised no one has seen it.

btw, I've heard someone's doing "Silent Hill" movie. If it will be as good in scaring the shit out of you as the game, the film company behind it will have to be prepared for "this movie caused heart attack" lawsuits definetely

Movies based on games usually end up sucking. but let's hope they can pull it off. I gotta say the only decent scary movie made in the 90s was In the Mouth of Madness. Dunno why it was not popular in theaters, but it's definately a well known movie (I guess it's one of those underground cult type ones that everyone has heard about but not seen). The only other movie I liked in the 90s that I thought was a little scary was Event Horizon (sorry Gurm). I'm a sci-fi fan, so maybe that's why. But I wasn't really scared by Event Horizon, just a little freaked maybe. It doesn't even compare to In the Mouth of Madness. It's just a cool movie, you gotta see it.

If you want to see a cool werewolf movie, see Dog Soldiers. Recent movie made in 2002. It's probably the best werewolf movie I've ever seen.

Dog Soldiers is very very good. Gets a british squaddie's character quite well as far as I can tell too.

I saw "In the Mouth of Madness" when it came out in theaters and also my brother bought it on DVD. Very cool movie. If you can let yourself go and try to think as what the character is thinking/feeling, then you'll definitely like it! Very twisty and cool. I was highly entertained.

As a side note, I loved Event Horizon, but you just can't watch it unless you have a big screen with a kick ass sound system, or you'll lose a lot of the effect.

The most "scary" in horror movies are watching the braindead people that inhibit them

"Look a dark cave/atic/sellar/drainage pipe, theres coming weird noises from it, lets go down and check"

I guess I like Silent Hill waaay more than Resident Evil because of the same thing...
