The features just about describe what I already have with an IEEE-1394 card, a Canopus ADVC-100 and MSP 7, without the disadvantage of Premiere.

No doubt, there are some features that will be better and others which will not be as good, but there is no way I'd be tempted to spend an extra $600 for the small difference this would offer.

I've already got the card - I just like the new features added with the new xtra drivers.
Also for about the same price as mspro 7.0 I get an analog/firewire capture card,
Adobe premiere and photshop, a ton of added transitions/effects free video web hosting , a copy of
DVDit! Se and real time preview on a TV monitor.
I thought the choice was a simple one.

Yup! I'm happy for you! Without the card, I already have analogue/firewire capture, MSP7, a ton of added transitions/effects, a copy of DV MF2 and real time preview on a TV monitor.

I've no need for the Adobe products, which I dislike, nor video web hosting, nor spending an extra $600 for relatively little advantage.

BTW, I already have DVDit! and you're really welcome to enjoy it! I never use it.

DVDiT is crap and slower rendering than molasses flowing downhill in a Michigan winter.

Brian; at times the Yukon is warmer than parts of Michigan. Take if from someone who's been caught in a Keweenaw Penninsula deer camp when a sudden cold wave came across Superior

True, however there have been times when dvd factory gives me an invalid format type, whereas dvdit just re-encodes and chugs along.

You are all right, it's a matter of taste, I like both products Ulead and Premiere, but the point of this thread is that Matrox is continuing to enhance their product for those existing customers and new potential once as well.

                      Peace!
