  • I just Bought this

Ironically it does not work on my mouse pad because it is too shinny.

    Shiny, even?

I personally dislike those things. Too LIGHT. I like my mouse to feel like there's something there.

That's why I use Logitech mice. Or wireless, since they have nice heavy batteries.

      I have farted.

MS mice are too big for my hands (the classic MS mouse was great though, and didn't need to be cleaned once in 4 years!), so I'm now using a Logitech Dual Optical, which is about the only mouse where I can easily use the third button.

A friend of mine had a logi cordless mouseman, which had a VERY light ball - impossible to use for me

I agree with gurm for the lightness thing.

And while I like the feel of logitech mice, their drivers suck.

I bought one of those when it was $70 and it died. Later I bought two $30 microsoft optical mice and neither has failed for several months.

I've got the non-cordless version, and like it quite a bit.. it indeed is very light, and requires about a week at least to get used to.

Another thing that's far more annoying is that the gliding strips on it get dirty VERY easily, and when you scrape off the dirt with your finger nails often enough, it loses the 'super-gliding' ability after a while.

I've seen everglide gliding strips being advertised, but you can't get those around here..

Actually the mouse is heavier than my old logitech 3 but mouse.

I actually have one of the Old-style ones of the MS Intellipoint Explorer model. I like it, but it occasionally acts erratically. Which would make me think that it's dying (hell, I've had the thing for years, so long that they no longer make the ones just like it, and the Microsoft logo on the palm area is worn away to only be a partial OS (kind of like Windows after you've had it installed for a while ))

I currently use a MS Intellimouse optical at home. It's very reliable and accurate, I like the button positioning, and the overall shape fits my hand pretty well. I agree with gurm on the weight thing though, definitely too damn light. Makes it feel kinda cheap too. The creaking side buttons don't help either.

Someday I'll replace it with an MX500 or something along those lines, of course sticking with the MS drivers...

I use a microsoft optical mouse (wheel mouse optical, which I got for $60 AU)

While the feet need cleaning occasionally, it is far easier to clean than the rollers/mouseball in a traditional mouse need. When in a dirty state, the optical mouse still works far better than a ball mouse. (especially when the ball mouse is in a dirty state)

I like the lightness of optical mice. It lets them glide eaiser.

For logitech mice ... just don't use the logitech drivers.
