  • Strange file association problem

I recently removed MS Pro 6.5 from my computer since version 7 seems to be working well for me.

After removing 6.5 I lost the file association to MS Pro when selecting *.dvp files.

After re-associating this type of file with veditor.exe, when double clicking on these files, Acrobat reader tries to open them!

Under Tools in explorer it show Adobe Acrobat reader as being the associated program to open *.dvp files! I have tried many times to re-associate but it always goes to Acrobat reader.

Just as a test I tried to associate with the Ulead Capture program, no problem doing that.

    Any suggestions?

you could try(if you have not already)

hold down shift, and right click on a *.dvp file.

    select open with

    select choose program.

    browse to veditor.

click the check box "always open with this program"

    click ok...

It is not so simple to re associate the .dvp file to VideoEditor 7.0
      Do so:
      1.-Explorer-Tools-Mapalternatives-Filetypes
      2.- Delete the .DVP type.
      3.- Start VideoEditor 7.0
      4.- Open a project file.
      5.-Save – Exit
6.- Now, you can re associate the type.
      ....a.-Right click
....b.-Now you can find the Video Editor (and Acrobat)
....c.-Mark VE as standard and the checkbox.
      7.- Enjoy.

I found the deletion of the .dvp type is important.
