I remember when LinkSys was just making one-off NICs.

Even then, they were the best one-offs on the market.

I was just talking to Wombat last night telling him I was worried because my company was going to make a 'significant' announcement this morning. I was thinking of lay-offs, etc.. Wombat mentioned that it was probably lay-offs or buying a company.
Anyway, I was pleasantly suprised to hear we bought Linksys. I guess it only makes sense since Linksys is the #1 market leader for home networking gear. My first thought was, sweet! discounts and free upgrades

On the other hand nice bragging rights...

None of the weenie Netgear for us.
We use a Cisco router for our home network.

I spoke to soon, no discounts

Good news is, Linksys will still be Linksys owned by Cisco. Now we truely have an end-to-end solution for the customer.
something else I thought of, when you get your free dsl/cable router from your isp in the future, it will probably be Linksys.

WOW! The best met the best.

Speaking about networking stuff... I really should have got a LinkSyS router over my USRobotics...

And not to mention that Linksys looks better than USR
