i tried to install java SDk on my machine and it crashed at 100%, (windows XP) now when i try to compile it sayd java not present yet when i try to reinstall it says java already installed, and wiont proceed , it appears in add remove programs but it will not remove from there. and ideas how to get rid of it so i may try again?

You can try renaming/deleting the folder in whick the SDK is currently installed, and then run setup again, and install to the same folder as before. I guess that should work!
