Realtime, DVD-VR, Multi-Cut/Extract Video, new filters (including the Old Film & others from MSPro7), content-based scene detection, on-disk DVD editing etc. etc. etc.

Those should give the reviewers a thing or three to gush over

It makes the other comparible products a bit bare of features.

          Just installed it a few minutes ago and checked out a few things;

          1. Splitting works much as in MSPro7's import video file dialog.

          2. The split by scene content works and Ulead even put in a sensitivity slider so you can tweak it. It even splits HuffYUV and MPEG, though MPEG requires a bit of tweaking of the sensitivity slider. No splits for WMV files though. Didn't try Real.

          3. The titler has features in common with the new MSPro 7 titler in that it has animation effects very similar to those in Cool3D. You type right onto the video screen.

          4. You can capture to AVI (you set the codec etc.), DV, MPEG (user setup), DVD, VCD, SVCD and even WMV.

          5. Voiceovers

          6. VCD/SVCD/DVD creation is from a window that opens over the editor.

          More to come....

            Hi Everyone,

Just a quick observation about VS7.

As I do all my timed DV captures from TV with a Canopus ADVC100 and AVI_IO. I'm interested in DV type2 playback

After some very quick tests, I find that playback with VS7 to both my Sony Camera and the ADVC100 using type 2 DV files are out of sync!

I tried DV Type2 files captured with both AVI_IO and VS7.

Scenalyser plays'em back perfectly, but of course, you can quickly take out the ads with Scenalyser.

Is this problem present in MSPro7 as well?

            Thanks,

            Nick.

Ulead has improved a lot on the usability for Video Studio.

The main feature is the authoring in this version. VS7 has included its own version of authoring.

The trial version is out. Try it out. It is a cute little video editing tool that anybody is able to use with ease.
