  • Anyone Played With A Connexant CX23880 Card?

Anyone played with any of these tv cards yet? I was thinking of buying the Asus version to replace my G450eTV. I'd really like to use dscaler, and the latest alpha adds support, for these cards. My main thing is will they capture in AVI_IO or Virtualdub? Need some kind of VFW wrapper?

Any word on this? Advantages that this 10bit card has over the 8bit bt878 cards? Compatibility?

Generically speaking a card with 10 bit DAC's will give better quality than a card with an 8 bit DAC becaused of the high sampling quality.

To capture using AVI_IO etc. there needs to be some kind of YUV, YUY2 or UYUV signal presented to DirectShow or VfW for *.avi capture. Without this you're stuck with its native capture format as supported in its drivers: MPEG.

I read the manual but I'll be darned if it has anything about an *.avi capture interface.
