  • Ulead DVD Workshop Help Please

    Hi All,

I am using a demo version of Ulead DVD Workshop.
When I have more than one clip on the menu it will
not just play the one I select, but from there to the last,
    before returning to the menu.
    Clips are 720 X 576 DV1. Am I overlooking somthing ?

    Regards,

    Debbie

I really don't understand what you are saying is wrong.

    DVD MF v 1 or 2?

    v2 I can't help you with.

On v1 I find the behaviour of multi mpeg disks is inconsistant across players -- works as I expect on my Sony NS315, doesn't work right on my Zenith. Single mpeg authored disks behave as expected on both players.

The key is one ~ 2hr mpeg file authored vs. two ~ 1hr mpeg files authored. The former behaves as expected, the latter's menus work as expected on some players but not all.

What I am saying is this:
I am trying out a demo of Ulead DVD Workshop.
I am authoring a DVD that contains 2 seperate clips on the same menu.

When I run a test, just before burning, the second clip will also play just as if it was 1 clip and will return to the menu only when both clips have finished playing.

I am expecting to be returned to the maine menu after the first clip.

Are the two clips coming from the same video file? If they are then DVD Workshop will play the entire video file before returning to the main menu.

If they are separate video files then from my experience it returns to the menu after playing the selected video file.

From memory (not at my PC)

Right click on files in "menu" should give you a choice of the two options!

My experience is that with DVD MF version 1 the behaviour depended on the player when two or more mpegs are loaded. IMHO this is the worst that could happen! Single file disks worked the same on all players.

If the demo is DVD MF version 2 my experience is moot.

              Nick,

You're right. I found that out yesterday, there is
a nenu option that sets the time before returning
to the menu (timt out), plus a right click on the clip for further instructions.

              Thanks to all. Regards,

              Debbie
