That was fast. What does the GFFX drivers do? OC CPU's by software?

500 Mhz GPU...imagine what you can obtain with a P clocked that speed...
(and with the memory bottleneck solved...)

.:: Gainward GeForce FX power pack! ULTRA/5800-8cX XP GS
        Introduction:

After nVidia its new diagram chip on the Comdex 2002 in lot Angelas presented we are of computer trend one of the first magazines the these to test may. Above all after competitor ATI had presented its Radeon 9700 pro chip came nVidia into time pressure. The moreover one ATI makes nVidia in the Low Budgetbereich competition, particularly with the Radeon 9500 pro and 9000 pro the test also got we from Gainward the GeForce FX power pack! Ultra/5800-8X XP. could not promise us manufacturer Gainward that performance data of the map in such a way will unfortunately remain, the moreover the plate layout will still change.

        Technical data:

        Scope of supply:

As one is accustomed by Gainward is attached to the map actually very much. Therefore Gainward did not save also with the GeForce FX. To the scope of supply belong beside 4 CDs, an adaptor cable as well as an adapter. With the mentioned CDs it acts once around CD Rome with video working on software and one with a DVD Player. On the drivers CD we find a Unterordner named NV30, which contains the current drivers for the new Fx-5800 Ultra chip. Suitable drivers for Windows 9x/ME, Windows NT4 and for Windows 2000/XP are provided (Windows 9x/ME: Detonator XP 41,34 of 30.12.2002, Windows 2000/XP: Detonator XP 41,34 of 30.12.2002, Windows NT4: 41.34 of the 30.12.2002). The two well-known programs WinProducer and WinCoder contain the CD with the video often commodity. On the third CD finds the DVD Player WinDVD of intervideo its place and on the fourth and last CD is the play Serious SAM 2.

The moreover one one finds still another adaptor cable, which is needed for the VIVO functions of the diagram map, a standard DVI/VGA adapter and from Gainward admitted "Quick start Guide" to that the steps to the installation of the diagram map contains. Unfortunately for us the Guide is appropriate only in English forwards however Gainward wants this also in German to rausbringen.

The scope of supply for the new FX map of Gainward is really well above all for the VIVO function all parts was already provided although the adaptor cable a little is short. Above all however praising value is also directly still the suitable video often commodity is attached

        Scope of supply:

        - Gainward AP FX PP! ULTRA/5800-8cX XP GS
        - driver CD (version: 41.34)
        - WinProducer, WinCoder and WinDVD
        - VIVO adaptor cable
        - DVI/VGA adapter
        - manual (Quick star Guide in Enlisch)

        The map:

As it already shows the name, a Ultra chip performs 5800 out nVidias GeForceFX series its service on the map. The chip performs its work with 500MHz and the GDR ii memory has a clocking of 500MHz although with the access time of 2,0ns quite more in it would be. Gainward does times again without the standard cooling of nVidia and blocks therefore again its own Kuehlungsmodel. One does not have to say to it that the somewhat smaller Gaiwnard radiator is better than the standard radiator of nVidia before all is so loud it, but the modified radiator unfortunately does not go also over two Slotbleche which prevented which one the first PCI Steckplatzt using can. In addition Gainward tries to cool the 4 memory chips with passive cooling fins. Thus the map is well suitable for over clocks.

Who thinks that the new map not more heavily than a GeForce 4, that must we disappoint by the enormous radiator box weighs our map proud 636g.Fuer the regulation of the TV/Video instructions is used again a chip of manufacturer Philips, which is very frequently blocked. The controlling of the DVI exit takes over the NV30, since it already integrated a Encoder. The map mash sausserdem over an external Stromanschlus does not smit river supplied wreden the map too much river on takes udn the AGP haven these there to cover can. Whom these data are not sufficient, which can itself regard again the following technical details of the map, which are direct from the manufacturer:

        - nVidia NV30 (5800 Ultra)
        - 500 MHz chip clock
        - 128 MT GDR ii memory
        - 2.0 LV of memory modules
        - 1 GHz storing act
        - 2 standard DVI (Flat panel display) Connector
        - s-video/Composite via adapter
        - AGP 8x (3.0)
        - video Out
        - 2048x1536 with 32Bit
        - DirectX 9+ Suppor

        Bench mark:

After we presented the map and the Lieferumgfang come we to wichtigstens the part bench mark.

        Here our test system:

        - Pentium 4 HT/3,06GHz @ 3,5GHz
        - 1024 MT PC1066 RDRAM
        - DetonatorXP 41,34 WHQL Zertif.
        - Windows XP Professional (FR 1)
        - DirectX 9

        3D Mark of 2001 SE:

This is one of the most well-known bench mark with which we the DirectX 8 performance measures. We changed all attitudes on default calmly only the dissolutions to have we. As one clearly to recognize knows sits down the map of Gaiwnard to the point. Reduced behind it ziehmlich the Radeon 9700Pro.

        Quake 3:

This unfortunately indicated play is still one of the best plays with which one the performance measure can. Since nVidia on its side also bench mark with Quake a 3 has wants we times to measure whether of nVidia indicated values to be correct. Therefore we selected the same dissolution as nVidia 2048x1536 with 32 bits.

Even when so high resolution is the Radeon 9700Pro of the new GeForce afterwards. It is not completely as fast as the FX however nearly and who plays already with so a high resolution.

        Unreal Tournament 2003:

Since it one of the newest plays is and also on the new unreal engine develops we it times installed over zus ehn which with rauskommt. As dissolution we selected 1280x1024x32. furthermore wore we quadruple AA and eightfold Af.

As one can see is the GeForce FX to more as 100 faster than the Radeon 9700Pro which is really amazing.

Further ones of bench mark follow

        Result

With the GeForce FX nVidia really again a masterpiece succeeded. Particularly by Microsofts DirectX 9 do not see looking plays in such a way from like it ever. A map the so many effects at the same time to represent can it so far ever did not give. Above all the precise and detail-exact diagram is real breath-robbing. If ATI countering wants to have it to exert the GeForce FX is really harder to break into. She lets to be seen as one into our test can her contractors far behind itself except with Quake 3 follows it there the Radeon 9700Pro completely well. Now generally to the map. Gainward is with the GeForce FX PP! Ultra/5800-8X XP gs a really good map succeeded not only in the equipment but also in the achievement really sharpens is. Unfortunately this achievement costs also rather much. According to Gainward it is to cost 600€ approximately. The map should be available according to Gainward in the middle of February in the trade.

        Our valuation:

        95%
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

Those benchmarks are fake. The results for the R9700 are too low and at least the GF FX' 3DMarks way too high to be possible. Oh and a GF4 Ti4600 won't get >15000 points in the standard 3DMark bench, either - not even with a 3GHz CPU.
This is a totally unknown german hardware site - there's absolutely no possibility that they could've got a GF FX before THG, Anandtech and the like.
The MaximumPC magazine has some more realistic and apparently authentic results online. What's funny is, that the GF FX seems to have the highest lead compared to the R9700Pro in Quake3 in the real benches, whereas this is the lowest lead in the fake results.

              Hiya,

              back from vacation.

It was indeed a fake, they admitted it on their news-site

              ------------------------------------
              -------------------------------------

              And for the Babelfish-Fans :-)
              -------------------------------------
Since a coworker due to a bet on it read yourself the two companies Gainward as well as nVidia and our side into the dirt to pull must it now on the legal consequences count. Against it legal steps are introduced. In addition the coworker became to dismiss without notice (because of several to occur). Furthermore we would like to excuse usn hereby both two companies Gainward and nVidia. I think everyone have immediately geshen that it a Fake Test was.
              --------------------------------------

Well, MaximumPC has a "sneak peak" with some NVIDIA selected benchmarks (which are specific not to push memory bandwidth).

Radeon 9700 Pro's nature benchies are very respectable, especially provided that NV30 is clocked at 500MHz.

would be ncie to see a R300 3D + Matrox 2D/pcb/3 heads + 3DLabs OGL drivers + nV DX drivers
