            MPlayer on Linux (and others) has an ASCII output mode. About halfway down http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/screen.html there are a couple of screenshots (they're labelled "AALib"). Can't tell what the hell they're of though...

                Of course, for the full effect you'd need to run the soundtrack through a speech-to-text and then a text-to-speech synthesizer.
