Shotgun mics - any advice on which to buy?
I have a Canon UC-X15HI Hi8 camcorder and after the last wedding I shot with it I'm done with the onboard microphone picking up extraneous noise (even traffic passing outside!).
An accessory arm is available for the camcorder and I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a shotgun mic I could use. I guess the bracket is universal and any mic would work with it(?). The camcorder has a mini-jack mic-in socket.
I'm after something in the best-bang-for-buck category rather than a fancy high-end big budget item or a cheap'n'nasty *Pokomatic failure brand* item.
