  • Mozilla Question

At home I'm using Mozilla and I just installed it on my work PC as well. However, we have this calendar/mail archive/information etc. system on our intranet, that runs ASP.

When I view it through IE I have no problems, but when I view the same page through Mozilla I get a page saying "You are not authorized to view this page". We do have to supply a username and password first time we log in to that system, but I don't even see the login page.

Any idea? I have no chance of making changes to the system. So is this a setup issue in Mozilla that I can fix, or will I just have to use IE for this particular system?
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

If you are on a NT Domain or Active Directory network then it is possible that the intranet is setup to authenticate using the NT/AD security (the actual name excapes me ATM), which effectively blocks out non-IE browsers that don't support this protocol.

Sorry for the short answer, getting ready for work hopefully someone else can expound on this, else I'll sneak on and do so.

It's called NTLM authentication and it s*cks bigtime. Our new Intranet uses it . It's a propiatary Microsoft only protocol (http://toastytech.com/evil/msproxy.html).

The solution I use with various results is NTLM Authorization Proxy server: http://www.geocities.com/rozmanov/ntlm/

NTLM authentication is planned to be implemented into Mozilla 1.3 (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23679) but I doubt it will make it into 1.3. But I hope it will. Opera will never support NTLM authentication"There are no plans to support NTLM, as it is proprietary"
