  • Disabling disk cleanup in XP

I have a swap partition and a cache partition for CD burning and every time the system boots or the cache partition gets filled it screams bloody murder at me.
How do you go about disabling it ?

I assume you are talking about the low disk space warning?
    If so, here is how.

From the Start Menu pick Run
Enter this into the box: regedit
    Press OK
Browse to this section: "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer"
In the menu choose Edit - New - DWORD and name the new value NoLowDiskSpaceChecks
Double-click the new key and set it to a value of 1
    Close regedit
A reboot might be required for this change to take effect.

    If not, let me know!

EDIT: This is for XP. if not using XP try Here

      Doesn't work.
Did set it to 1, did reboot. Also tryed check instead of checks, no go.

Use Powertoys/Taskbar/"Warn when low on disk space"

Thanks isochar, it works. And to you too Byock.
I'm somehow confused as TweakUI does exactly what Byock suggested, adds a "NoLowDiskSpaceChecks" REG_DWORD with a value of 1.
If I add it manually it doesn't work yet if I do it by unchecking the "Warn when low on disk space" box in TweakUI it does

How odd. Oh, well. At least it is fixed.
