  • For Graphics: Digital or CRT monitor?

What are the crucial advantages and disadvantages of digital displays and CRT monitors in presenting graphics? I mean colour depth, sharpness, if the colours look natural and so on.

    CRT monitor, definitely.

LCDs are great for some things, but graphics isn't one of them.

The biggest reason is that they generally only do 5 or 6 bits of color resolution per channel, rather than the 8 or 10 bits that a video card can output.

LCDs have to interpolate to do non-native resolutions, and have issues with distributing brightness evenly. They're great for some things, but graphics editing/design is not their forte.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
