  • Where to connect my new harddrive?

    Hi!

I got another IBM 120GXP 80GB today. I can only connect one more ide-device to my computer since the motherboard only supports four devices. My question now is:
Does it matter how I connect my devices?

Currently I have one harddrive on ide0 and my dvd and cd-r on ide1.

You probably want to keep the hard drives on the same channel. More importantly, if your DVD and CD-R can cooperate on IDE1, leave them that way.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
