  • Crazy Parhelia overclocker @ germany

    Hi Guys, at the germane Site www.3dcenter.de i have found a User, called RyuHazuki, wich P runs stable @ 275 Mhz Coreckock for testing

    Now he searchs for a Volatage-Modification to reach 300 Mhz. Does somebody know how-to?
    System:
    P III-S 1.4@1.52
    512 MB SDR-Ram
    Gigabyte-6IEML
    Matrox Parhelia

      I know it. But i've read first your reply @ 3dcenter.de and than i have clicked here to post my Thread. In order to this i was to slow

        There is no howto on upping Parhelia's core voltage. If he wants this it'll need to be reverse engineered. But as I have stated before (and this is an official statement via Matrox), WILL cause Parhelia to die in short order.

            The guy uses an intel stock heatsink for the P4 on his Parhelia, so the question is: is the HS responsible for that crazy overclock or has he just been lucky with his card?

            What about mounting a peltier on the Parhelia? Greebe, since you know that kinda stuff well, what do you think?

                  With only the PIv heatsink on the Parhelia he got 254Mhz @the Chip and RAm is on 300Mhz

                    Got a Cooljag Cooler on my Parhelia:


                    but i cannot oc the Parhelia over 242/306. The Same result with normal parhelia cooler.

                      He's just lucky. Some P cores will go much much higher than 220.
                      Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

                          Doesn't matter. Some of the chips will be sweet. I'm sure Matrox wished all of the chips would go faster........

                            I haven't bothered to even try overclocking my Parhelia, haven't seen a reason to until I at least have a faster CPU. Right now I'm pretty sure everything graphical is being limited by that. I only have an 850mhz p3.

                              Of course for your System the Parhelia is not gonna fully loaded, because your CPU is too slow.
