  • I want to buy the RGB cable for Matrox G 550 DH

    Hi everybody,

    I have ordered the G 550 DH.

Could somebody sell me the RGB cable according to Matrox specifications at their website, please ?

Or a link, where I can find somebody, or a shop ?

I am living in Germany, so people/shops from Europe are preferred (due to costs for shipping).

But for example Americans with sending Christmas parcels to German relatives, are welcome also !

Is this the only description, how to make yourself such a RGB TVout cable connection ?

I need Scart-RGB for my TV.

        There is written:

***This is ONLY for the HD-15 connector with the Millennium G550 series.***

What is the HD-15 Connector ?

VGA connector, i.e. not the DVI

doesn't the G550 DH come with that cable?
(When I got a G400 DH it had one in the box!)

              nope.

I guess you're confusing the breakout cable (which comes with every retail matrox card) with the SCART-RGB cable.

does the G550 have the breakout cable?

If so, ouldn't you just use an RGB - Scart converter? You can buy them in virtually ALL electronics shops. (Obviously you'd need a length of screened RGB extension cable as well.

I will have the breakout cable, but that is S-Video out ?

                    Edit:
It will have Composite and S-Video out.

RGB out directly from VGA out, should be better (even as S-video), or not, with Matrox 550 ?

If it's like my G400 cable then the breakout cable will be a 15-pin VGA adapter that is split into two short leads, on s-video and one Composite.

The Composite (a phono output) can, along with a left and right (phono)sound outputs from your sound card, be fed directly into a scart converter like this one:

That works with my TV okay.

You can also go for the 'de-luxe' verson which can take the s-video connector as well.

MJA: he doesn't want s-video or composite connection to his tv, he wants a RGB connection, which the Matrox G400/G450/G550 _natively_ support. You only need to make the cable according to the schematics as linked from this thread. It provides better image quality than s-video or composite.

Buying a VGA SCART-RGB converter is stupid because the G400/G450/G550 already natively support it.... thus it should most likely provide better quality as well.

Yup, though you probably want to limit the length of the cable as much as possible, because if you make the cable too long, the image quality will suffer.

many thanks, Zeus is God, he understands me

Funny, that Matrox does not sell these cables...
RGB from PC to TV should be cool.
