  • VCD back to mpeg

Every VCD I make myself, using ULEAD VideoStudio 6.02, plays perfectly on my new Toshiba DVD player. However, I downloaded a very good quality VCD, that plays on my PC DVD player, but will not play in my Toshiba DVD player.

So what I would like to do is convert it back to mpeg, and let VideoStudio encode it to VCD. How do I convert the VCD back to mpeg-1?

    thanks

One of the files on the VCD will be big. It may have a variety of names and extensions. Just try changing the extension to .mpg and I think you will find it works (or right click on it, open with mplayer2 and it will play).

The best tool I have used for this is VCDGear:

It converts VCD .dat files directly to mpg format, and can repair glitches in the original dat. It's free, too!!

Yup. Back when I was doing a lot of VCD that was a very handy tool to have around.
