    - We are slowly approaching our goal of 10 billion lysozyme structures. This is just a quick note that the next change will NOT occur until on or after Dec. 8. Technical support may be limited until this time to. Sorry for inconvenience. This time we are going to try something a little different - the next protein will be the same one, but we will change the sampling technique. We expect this will result in a best RMSD about 2A smaller than with the present technique (but only one way to find out for sure). This approach will also likely be noticeably faster at generating structures, but they will be of slightly poorer structural quality. We are interested and excited to see if our energy functions are able to pick out the low RMSD structures any better with this alternate sampling approach.

    - The Distributed Folding Project will be covered on TV on Wed. Nov. 27, at 5pm EST on a show called 'homepage'. It is on a local Toronto station, but can be viewed from anywhere in the world through the web at http://www.cp24.com/ (scroll down and click on CP24Live to get the channel streamed live to your machine). I believe it will re-run at 11pm EST the same day for those of you on the otehr side of the world who are sleeping at 5pm EST.
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...
