  • Rumour: Intel to withdraw licence from SIS

Now this is the Inquirer, but then again I wouldn't put it past Intel.

I don't know how that would fly with the US and EU regulators.

It could well fall under the anti-competitive provisions of the monopolly statutes as well as being a breach of contract since it's an existing, and admittedly valid, license.

You can't just cancel someones license to use your product because they suceed in the marketplace

      That's lame

(first thing I thought after reading that ASUS SIS655 mobo preview was what's going to happen with SIS' license)

Damn Martians. (loads double barrelled shotgun)

Seriously, Doesn't it seem like that the moment Sis starts beating Intel at their own game, intel wants to take its ball and go back home.

Talk about sore losers (If the article is true)

I have never cared about P4 or its chipset and may never do, but if it's true....

Then Intel is going monopoly crazy!!!

No, that would be a 1600+ 1.4ghz @1.9ghz for roughly 2/5 the price of the P4....
