  • UT 2003 on Parhelia :)

    Hi,
    I'm trying to get good performance and nice visuals. What would you recommend are the best settings? ingame/and on card for UT?
    Oh and would I benifit in terms of performance if I got a SB Audigy to replace my sound Blaster Live! 5.1?
    Oh and does Triple buffering help the games performance?
    thx

    Oh and what does it mean by use Xboxfssa in the system folder? you can change it from false to true

    Got it I've started using the 1.01.01.083 drivers and I cant believe the increase in performance and overall quality, though the only problem I'm getting with these drivers is that when I leave Ut all the text goes funny and is unreadable
    Apart from that
    NICE MATROX

      Glad you got it working.
      I love this game, especially since I finally got used to playing in Surround mode.

        Hi there 3dfx!
        This is a known bug, it happens when you use 16xFAA while running UT on the same resolution your desktop is running. So when you set your desktop to 1024x768 you could set UT to 800x600 for example. Of course you could also change the desktop resolution or simply disable FAA.
        Specs:
        MSI 745 Ultra :: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ :: 1024 MB PC-266 DDR-RAM :: HIS Radeon 9700 (Catalyst 3.1) :: Creative Soundblaster Live! 1024 :: Pioneer DVD-106S :: Western Digital WD800BB :: IBM IC35L040AVVN07

          I've never had that problem.

          My Desktop is 3840x1024 & that's the same resolution I play the game in.

              It seems like this bug doesn't happen always, I played some UT without the crahsing, but most times it happens...

                Same here: at 3072 X 768 I've never had any issues. All settings are maxed. I run it in D3D (OpenGL performance is dismal to say the least).
