  • 19'' CRT recommendation

I'm seriously thinking about buying a new 19'' CRT soon. And after a bit checking around I've found narrowed it down to these monitors. My primary requirement is min 100Hz at 1280x1024(960) and I want a quality part. I've also quoted the norwegian prices in USD in paranthese after each.

    Viewsonic P95F+/P95F+B (452$)

    Viewsonic P95F (452$)

    Viewsonic P90F (418$)

    Phillips 109P40 (509$)

    Eizo F730 (619$)

    Eizo T765 (795$)

    Eizo T766 (790$)

    Eizo T761 (911$)

If the differences between actual models looks a bit wierd it's probably because some of these monitors are not available from the cheapest webshops...

I've also looked at the sony's but they are simply too expensive IMHO here in Norway. The CPD-G420 one costs 761$ and it's specs don't match the Eizo ones in that range... I know they are lot cheaper in the states. But with shipping costs for 19'' monitors I'd rather buy locally especially since many have on-site warranties. But does anyone actually have any experience with any of these CRT's or any insight on which I should go for ? Money is a problem and the top Eizo ones are a bit beyond my budget I would say...

IMO it's not worth it too get a sony. i brought a GDM-200PS years ago for 1000 CND. definitely not worth it.

Look at the "17" monitor recommendations" thread below.

I reccomend the Iiyama VM Pro 454. You might be able to get a Cornerstone from the European distributor, but dont bother with the UK one.
      Athlon XP-64/3200, 1gb PC3200, 512mb Radeon X1950Pro AGP, Dell 2005fwp, Logitech G5, IBM model M.

Ahhh the problem with both cornerstone and Iiyama is that neither of them are available as far as I know in Norway. Or if they are the distributor is so small/expensive it is not interesting anyway. So they are not good choices

          LG-F900P

Been using the older FLATRON 915FT+ for over a year now and have been very happy with it!

          According to LG it does 2048 x 1536 @ 65Hz but mine (the older model) does 72Hz at that resolution! The recomended res is 1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz (should go to over 90Hz) but I usualy run mine @ 1280 x 960 @ 100Hz +
According to the latest official figures, 43% of all statistics are totally worthless...

The F900P does not reach 100hz at 1280x1024 which is usually the difference between the true top of the line models and the medium class ones. The Flatron 915FT+ does but it costs the same as Viewsonic and I'd rather take the Viewsonic to a Goldstar model.... But that might just be my prejudgeses (sp?) talking.

The F900P replased the Flatron 915FT+ and the specs are the same so I cant see why it should not! Are you looking at the specs on LG's site or have you tried the monitor yourself? The 2 monitors cost the same over here before the stopt to sell the Flatron 915FT+! Also with LG you will not get the 2 annoying black lines as you will with Trinitron tubes!
