  • Any one else feel the 7.9 Alaskan quake?

    Alaskan quake story....

It measured 7.9 on the Ricter scale. Definitely a biggun.

News reports say that water was sloshing out of peoples pools as far south as Louisana.

Believe it or not we had choppy waves in our pool....in Michigan

We're in SE Michigan & we felt it enough for our pool to get rough and our 4 year old to notice something. What quadrant of Ontario are you in?

Zokes is pretty much eastern Ontario (Belleville). I didn't feel a thing in the Toronto area.

I think if you felt it, we probably would have felt it too, if we were paying attention. Some quick mapping in MS Mappoint shows that the epicentre (145 kilometres south of Fairbanks) is the following distances away from each of us:

              Detroit: 4660KM (2895.6 miles)
              Toronto: 4730KM (2939.1 miles)
              Belleville: 4780KM (2970.2 miles)

Yeah, so I'm bored... sue me

New Orleans felt it stronger than we did and they're over 3000 miles distant.

theres less risk of us getting a quake here in Sweden than Me winning the jackpot on the first ever ticket I buy!
I never gamble so its a verry slim chance

Last measurement we had on the Richter scale around here was when Rik Waller was doing sit-ups on Celebrity Fit Club
